IMNOTHUMANBOI Beta 1.7.3 Server Is Now Live
After a lot of planning, tinkering, and more troubleshooting than expected, the IMNOTHUMANBOI Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 server is officially live.
You can now connect to the server at:
imnothumanboi.com:6067
This project started as a simple idea: bring back the experience of early Minecraft—before sprinting, hunger bars, and the mountain of mechanics that came later. Beta 1.7.3 remains one of the most beloved versions of the game, and the goal of this server is to preserve that classic survival feel while providing a stable, long-term world for players.
But getting to launch day took a bit of work.
Starting the Server From Scratch
Setting up a Beta 1.7.3 server isn’t quite the same as launching a modern Minecraft server.
Unlike newer versions with polished installers and active support, Beta servers require a bit more manual setup. The process started with obtaining the correct server jar and building a clean server environment from scratch.
Once the base server was running, the focus shifted to stability: configuring memory limits, setting up automatic restarts, and making sure backups were scheduled so the world wouldn’t be lost to crashes or mistakes.
Classic versions of Minecraft can behave unpredictably on modern systems, so getting everything running smoothly involved a lot of small adjustments and testing.
Eventually the server was stable, the world generated properly, and the first successful login confirmed everything was working.
Planning Ahead With a Block of Ports
One of the decisions made early on was to reserve a block of ports instead of just one.
The current server runs on port 6067, but additional ports are already allocated for potential future servers. That makes it easy to expand later without needing to reconfigure the network each time.
This approach opens the door to things like:
- Additional Beta worlds
- Experimental servers
- Community events
- Other classic versions of Minecraft
Planning ahead like this keeps expansion simple if the community grows.
Building the Website
Alongside the server itself, the project needed a simple home on the web.
The site was built with a straightforward goal: give players a place to learn about the server, find the connection information, and read updates like this one.
The homepage focuses on a few key things:
- What the server is
- Why Beta 1.7.3 was chosen
- How to join
- Basic rules and expectations
Nothing overly complicated—just a clean place where new players can quickly figure out what the server is about.
Setting Up a Real Domain
Instead of sharing an IP address, the server runs behind a proper domain:
imnothumanboi.com
Connecting through a domain makes things much easier for players. It’s easier to remember, easier to share, and it allows the server infrastructure to change behind the scenes without forcing everyone to update their connection info.
Once the domain was registered, DNS records were configured so the address points directly to the Minecraft server running on port 6067.
Now players can simply type:
imnothumanboi.com:6067
…and they’re in.
Why Beta 1.7.3?
Beta 1.7.3 captures a specific era of Minecraft that many players still consider the game’s golden age.
There’s no sprinting, no hunger bar, and no massive progression system. Survival feels slower and more deliberate. Large cave systems encourage exploration, resources feel valuable, and building projects grow organically over time.
It’s a version of Minecraft where the world itself is the focus.
That’s the experience this server aims to preserve.
The World Starts Now
Every long-term Minecraft world begins the same way: a small spawn area, a few starter builds, and players exploring the wilderness.
Over time those beginnings turn into roads, towns, rail networks, massive builds, and shared landmarks.
Right now, the world is fresh and waiting.
If you enjoy classic Minecraft, this is the perfect time to jump in and help shape the server’s history from the very beginning.
